Programme Requirements
The Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science shall be conducted by Coursework, Research, and Thesis. A candidate will be required to carry out independent, individual research on an identified Ph.D. level Research Problem in a relevant area of specialization in the field of Computer Science.
Examinations
The examination rules and regulations for postgraduate studies of the School of Graduate Studies of Maseno University shall apply.
Research Task Distribution
The basic tasks involved in undertaking the Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science degree programme shall include making a research proposal, carrying out research investigations on the stated problem, and writing a Ph.D. thesis based on the research.
The Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science degree programme shall normally consist of nineteen (19) units of the thesis which are distributed as shown in the table given below. One unit amounts to 45 contact hours.
