Admission Requirements

To be admissible into the MSc degree programme, a candidate shall have one of the following minimum qualifications: 

  1. An upper second class honours Bachelor of Science degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, computer technology, computer science and technology or a related field from a recognized university. 
  2. A lower second class honours Bachelor of Science degree in information Technology, information systems, computer science, computer technology, computer science and technology or a related field from a recognized university; and two (2) years research experience. 
  3. A Bachelor of Science pass degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, computer technology, computer science and technology or a related field from a recognized university; three (3) years research experience. 
  4. A postgraduate diploma in information technology, information systems, computer science, computer technology, computer science and technology or a related field from a recognized university; and three (3) years research experience.

In addition to the above requirements, applicants shall have to meet any other requirements of the MSc degree programme as approved by the Senate of Maseno University. 

Programme Duration

The MSc in IT degree programme shall run for a period of two academic years distributed over four semesters.
